Tony - I expect that CPQ will do quite well with this product. Several things about that announcement interested me. Prior to the acquisition of Digital, CPQ had done some preliminary work in the NAS space - that was the original reason for the breakout of the storage division in 1996. However, after the DEC acquisition, the direction shifted to the StorageWorks approach, which was SAN oriented. The current storage team is still on that path. This new NAS appliance comes not from the storage group but from the server group. My guess is that the server people (probably some of the same ones who were hot on NAS in 1996) got tired of watching NTAP take their NAS ideas to market while waiting for the storage guys to get their act together, and instead hammered out a product on their own. After the departure of Pesatori, which elevated ISSG to a stand alone product group, they would have the charter to do that, devil take the hindmost. This is the classic Compaq team, and I would expect that they would show the same hustle and "can do" that they show in the server space - a clean, well-engineered product with all the right features at a great price point.
