Bill, I hate to see the Dellnialists in trouble. <VBG> You actually hit the nail on the head in last night's Rap. The quarter wasn't that huge a disaster. It is the price of the silly stock vs. the growth rate that is a disaster. This one could drop to $12 a share and still be moderately on the pricey side for its growth prospects.

I don't subscribe to the mgt. concept. Dell was brillant when PCs were selling at any price as fast as they could make them, and now they are stupid because the market has matured (in fact, it may even be in rust belt territory). But Dell did such a job of snowing the ignorant and terminally gullible that now he may have to take the heat for the inevitable decline. Fortunately, Mikey sold all that stock to suckers on the long trip up, so he can cry all the way to any of the banks he owns. <g>

My experience has been that if Dell takes a stumble, Compaq is going into a full body cast. IBM, too, though you would never know it from their "sucker friendly" accounting. <g>
