Re "Intel has been planning on moving away from DRDRAM for a long time???? Given Intel's only very recent change in their public stance about DRDRAM, does this mean that they have been passing misinformation on to the investment community?"

No,

Intel has long been following a plan of having SDRAM support for P4 (I have had the same discussion with Carl. He wants a link but I can't be bothered to do his research for him so I am glad Intel has now made a statement to counter the recent theatricals from the fudsters).

Their publicly stated plan for over a year has been to introduce P4 at the high end with RDRAM support, then later introduce SDRAM/DDR support as P4 moves into the mainstream.
