Scumbria,

The painful implication of this is that the September launch date was intended to be another paper launch.

So Scumbria, please consider this possibility. A September P4 launch might have another paper launch that gets horrible press yet again. A mid to late October launch makes the launch real with at least 50K-100K machines boxed up ready to ship out on launch day.

On another note, I can't wait to see benchmarks from production P4 systems. If the 20%-25% IPC penalty people have been talking about is real, P4 may never beat Mustang on performance. The sole exception would be on carefully hand constructed assembler code that is free from branches. I can't wait for Intel to release benchmarks that rely on this<G>.
