Refurbished Monitors: My experience with refurbished 21" monitors has not been very good. Bought a Hitachi 802 Refurbished from U-bid for $350 and when I got it it was laying on it's side with only one peace of foam on one side in the box, no other packing below or around it, the base was broken, because of poor packing. I plugged it in and the picture was fuzzy, the monitor was 5 years old and I think the phosperous had degraded on the back side of the screen. I sent it back and got a full refund only because it was broken in transit.
Second monitor I bought was a Compaq P1610 21x24 New from Egghead. When I plugged it in picture shape had problems and could not be adjusted to my taste. It was 5 years old but new. I complained loudly and got a refund less freight.
Third monitor I bought at Ebay from a private individual who sells computer equ. New Nokia 445xpro. Am very happy with it.
Have also bought three other New Nokia monitors from Eghead which I am happy with.
Refurbished means used- and not necessarily up to factory specifications so buyer beware. There is no way to know how old or used these monitors are. As for me I won't even mess with a refurbished again, but there are some good experiences out there to. Deal with a Co. that will give satisfaction guarantees. All the online Companies I have dealt with have had good service.
