You may be correct. Provided that you aren't disconnecting your ground rod that grounds your electric service.

I would check with a professional first.

I realize now that there are many other solid state devices that are not easily unplugged. Ovens, refigerators, heating/cooling systems, smart home systems...

...my wife also tells me that a good way to check if the power came back on is to put my tongue into the toaster as I run my hand under cold water at the sink...

I'll have to try it next time.

That magazine of hers is filled with all sorts of good tips for husbands.
