Richard BUSKEY: Regarding TXN, ADI, and ISIL...

I plan to add to my TXN holdings Monday AM. It is still at "the nice price".

ADI has spiked up sharply over the past week or two ($60 to $77), probably in anticipation of its reporting earnings after the close Tuesday 8/15. I would NOT buy ADI at current levels. If ADI acts like other tech stocks reporting stellar earnings, its report will be nitpicked to death and it will sell of sharply after it reports. This may provide a better level to add ADI. I could kick myself for missing it a $65 on Friday. Oh, well...

ISIL was not on my radar screen but it seems to have a great product line, in all the right areas. However, according to the website: ipolockup.com, ISIL's lockup expires on Monday 8/14, at which time 69,300,000 are unlocked. I am uncertain as to how to play this; my naive understanding of lockups is to avoid stocks within a month of their lockup expiration and then avoid them 3-4 days after the lockup expiration date. With ISIL down 50% from its recent high, there may be few people selling their shares at this depressed level and ISIL's price may not decline at all next week -- I just don't know.

I'm inclined to see how ISIL plays out over the course of the week before initiating a position. Incidentally, if anyone has a better understanding of how to play lockups, please post.
