Hi Mike,

Feedback I get from Exar insiders is that Ciffone is a stronger leader - far, far more interested in actually running the business than the previous CEO. Discussions now revolve around business, not golf, etc.

Still - my concern for Exar is simple - most of the previous executive staff are still there an in charge. These are the guys who, with the previous president, took a company with a history of slow, steady growth and "turned it around." Exar used to be a 160M company. Not close to it now. Exar had a strong presence in the Japanese consumer products market - that division has shut down. No longer does Exar participate in modem or disk drive.

For me to believe Exar is really turning back around, and really growing, I'd need to see some INCREASE in markets, rather than "focusing" more narrowly.
