I think we agree about the future of NETP the company, and where we disagree is the speed at which the stock will recover. You are correct that my discussion of the bubble is primarily related to the index. Obviously individual stocks add up to the whole, and the bubble couldn't exist without the bubble-like behavior of the individual stocks. My point that the DOT isn't going to make a dramatic recovery though is premised on the fact that as winners are sorted from losers some stocks will rise significantly while others will continue to fall. My expectation is that NETP will be one that recovers. Of course before the stock can recover it will have to become clear that the inevitable failure of the "cash sucking" etailers will not compromise NETP's future. That question mark is the reason for the recent fall. As you can see, NETP is tracking the etail sector quite nicely so far.

As for participating in the bubble, the internet bubble actually had two phases, the first bubble ended in March of 1999 or so. It was unusual in that it re-inflated and formed yet another bubble top in March of this year. NETP missed the first bubble top, but fully participated in the second bubble, and even did a very nice job of issuing a secondary during the bubble. Some others like FFIV also did a nice job in that regard. Others that didn't may run out of cash or have to secure some more expensive funds. Anyway this chart shows that NETP did indeed catch the second bubble:
