Thanks for the info on Opticon.

Sorry but I don't have any special knowledge regarding the software used by Avici or their interoperability. The only interoperability actually demonstrated at the show was with Tellium and possibly Qtera (they had boxes from a few router vendors).

However, I seem to recall that even CSCO has had some problems with their OS in recent months even to the point of shutting down some of their routers. As I recall it had to do with tranfer of large router tables perhaps using BGP. I don't recall the details now so perhaps someone can fill me in.

Any such problem is likely to be a major headache for Juniper or Avici since the redesign of ASIC's takes many man-months to debug and fab.

What are your thoughts on Avici? Any comments on the stock action?
