Hi Barry. While I have not always been a fan of your posts I do admire people who speak their minds and don't follow the crowd. I haven't seen any mention of the "BET" b/w you and Bill Jackson which you made on March 22, 1997 (see posts 2120-2125 or so):

For those of you who are new or forgot here was the bet:
Bill bought 100,000 shares of PFG long on March 22 for 6.15
Barry sold 100,000 shares of PFG short on March 22 for 6.15

The bet was originally proposed by Bill until May 15 (closing price 4.20) but Barry gave Bill the choice of several dates and he chose June 15.

So I guess at half time Barry is winning. To May 15 Bill has lost 31.7% and Barry has gained 46.5%.

I still wouldn't want to be short on PFG in real life but Barry's points back in March about the stock getting ahead of itself seem to have had merit. Of course a lot of this could be due to the BXM effect on the market.

Bill, there's still another month until June 15 for the "Rim" to get it's act in gear. I'll be waiting at the finish line hoping for a 7.00 share price.

BTW Barry, do you short stocks in real life?
