Interview with CPST's CEO:

cbs.marketwatch.com

Interesting comments regarding Capstone's future focus. They appear to be headed toward residential deployment, which could be viable if they can bring down unit costs. And, obviously this is a huge potential market. While I don't see any compelling advantages for Capstone here at the moment, this may one day become an attractive market as microprocessors of various kinds proliferate into the residential space, making homes increasingly dependent on clean, reliable high-nines power.

Also, they are involved with hybrid R&D projects with fuel cells. My take on the various projects out there along these lines is that they are all a long way from prime time, and the costs are stratospheric. Maybe someday, but not soon......

Maybe I'm reading more into the comments than I should, but there is a hint that CPST and ACPW may be working towards some sort of collaboration. It would certainly make sense to meld a microturbine with an ACPW flywheel on a ride-through system, in place of the current genset, particularly for indoor operations which have no place to install a diesel genset, yet still require high-nines power, and would like to chuck their battery arrays. I don't know if this would be economical at the moment or not. Might we see an alliance forming after ACPW's quiet period ends?
