I've been a tax/trusts and estates lawyer for over twenty years. It's not a question of whether I BELIEVE it, these are facts that anyone can verify if they bothered to check the facts before spouting off.

The reason those farms were sold is that the younger generation DID NOT WANT TO FARM IT. If you don't continue to use the land for farming, you don't get the tax breaks.
