Hi Scumbria; Actually, if I understand it correctly (and I haven't looked through a lot of data sheets), the Transmeta guys are using DDR as the main memory on the 5400, but not as expansion memory. In other words, what you buy will have DDR, but if you want to add more memory, you buy SDRAM.

That way they get the lower power consumption for DDR, but don't have to wait for the DDR SODIMMs to come out. Nevertheless, this is definitely the nose of the camel.
