I've got no problem with someone who believes it should be repealed, the only problem I have is with people who use lies/distortion/fear tactics to advance their arguments.

Washington is what it is, and it's not going to change anytime soon. So, Congress has a LIMITED ability to cut various taxes (i.e., we can't eliminate or reduce all taxes at the same time).

That's just the way it is, nothing is going to change in the foreseeable future, no matter who controls Congress and the White House.

If someone says we should use that ability to repeal the estate tax, rather than to, for example, increase the allowable IRA deduction or the earned income credit (personally, I hate the earned income credit) or the capital gains tax, that's a policy decision, and reasonable arguments can be made for both.

But if someone says: "Ummm ... I don't think they should take the farms away from the .. ummm ... (pauses to scratch privates) ... ummm .. poor little old widows when the farms have been in the family for generations ... ummm .. remember Waco and Ruby Ridge ... ummm .. that's communism!"

Well, that person is an idiot, and it scares me that he has the right to vote.
