99% of all species that have lived are now extinct
So, out of every hundred species, one of them survives? Evolution utterly destroys 99 of them? (This God is starting to sound all too familiar!).
It would seem that evolution wants to perpetuate LIFE, regardless of the costs in terms of lives. (sounds like Lucretious, doesn't it). So individuals, and groups of individuals , can be sacrificed to the service of LIFE?
Why does LIFE try to perpetuate? Why does most life understand that LIFE is what matters, while man (the thinker) has outstripped his source code and fancies that his insignificant little ego based form of life is more important than LIFE (to be fair, this is only when he is riding on the one million mile per hour solar wind or when he is praying, or when it is 4 in the morning). On another level, man is exhibiting a deeper regard for LIFE: The observations previously made re: helping the fragile and the weak to survive simply because of some intrinsic value, (or is it a case of identity)? Who wrote the source code for evolution, anyway?
<<Why do millions of species (without thoughts, concepts or values)...continue to seek goals that only make rational sense to rational and thinking beings?>>
A simple answer is that they are somehow imbued with rational goals...
I believe that evolution in humans no longer applies
now THAT is a courageous statement! Right or wrong...your statement demonstrates a singular integrity. You guys are super! |
