KidRat, That game was a classic. I remember the day it happened. It was plastered on every news program. The trombone player got squashed! I didn't realize that John Elway was the QB of that game on the Stanford side. Speaking of John Elway... He was another great. Over shadowed by Montana. Elway was a quarterback that was so good, that it could make a person hate him. Then he remained so good, that you had to admire him... I remember Elway being able to pass the ball harder than any other QB I ever saw. I was watching one game where the announcer describes a TD pass. If I remember correctly it went something like this: "Elway drops back into the pocket, he rolls out the the right, then back to the left. He find a man open in the endzone. Elway fires a Split Fingered Fastball past two defenders and implants the ball into the chest of the wide receiver." Probably happened with less than a minute on the clock... That dude had one heck of an arm and was a fierce competitor. -KnutClappy
