John, I think the concept of converge will take up this matter at bay. I agree that folks will NOT watch a movie on their computer screens. But what DSL will enable is video downloading for use on devices like TIVO or Replay. I'm thinking ports between your PC and TIVO, or a direct phone line input into TIVO.

Cable companies have been talking about movies-on-demand for at least 10 years. We're seeing this day come closer and closer.

The DirecTV folks already have a set-top box. It would NOT take much to add a large-capacity hard-drive along the lines of TIVO to provide movies-on-demand.

Movies delivered over DSL is just another option that's coming on to the scene.
