These comments directly reflect jacob's comments during QCOM's CC. Who do you believe, MOT/NOK or QCOM (the licensee for over 75 different manufacturers.)

All of this is true...but it looks like the Korea implementation will be significantly ahead of the US. The only reason I believe the late 2001 timeframe is because it came from the CTO of Leap....I would assume that they are in a position to know the delivery dates.

Perhaps he was just speaking of Leap's planned implementation....but it didnt sound like it. Also I would think that Leap would be one of the first carriers to install 1x since so much of their business model depends on capacity (vs coverage).

Unfortunately most of the US carriers have been incredibly slow installing new infrastructure....
