If you are interested in micro generation (local power generation), you'd be remiss not to include solar as playing a role in future energy utilities. A couple companies to keep an eye on are ENER and APWR. I own APWR, as they are the sole pure-play solar cell company; I find it interesting that in a time that many would expect to be an industry/technology ramp-up, they are already profitable and growing visibly.
