Advalorem,

In my opinion -- if the cpq/rimm device combines 1) instant messaging, and 2) the looks/applications of the iPaq PocketPC, then it should do well in the market.

Blackberry and iPaq are philosophically different devices. One is mobile wireless; the other is mobile multimedia. When you combine the two, you get neither. Currently, the Blackberry battery only last about 2 weeks. Adding the iPaq to it; the device will be HUGE and and require battery change every day. This "killer product" will die before it ever gets to the market. Or you could drop the multimedia side of iPaq. And what do you get? A Palm PDA with push technology.

Now you see what Palm meant by focusing on simplicity and communitivity.
