BTG on Veridian Team for $1.5 Billion Information Assurance Contract for DISA Program
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, August 14, 2000 - BTG, Inc. (Nasdaq: BTGI), an information systems and technical services company, is a partner on the Veridian team selected as one of the primary information assurance providers on the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) "I Assure" program. The contract, with a total ceiling of $1.5 billion for a three-year base period with four one-year options, provides cyber assurance services to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. The contract is multiple award and indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ), which means the teams can bid for specific information assurance jobs covered by the contract. The Veridian team will provide a full range of information security services under the DISA program, including:
* Managed Security Services, including around-the-clock network security management * Secure Network Design, Integration and Operation * Threat and Risk Assessments * Incident Response and Forensics
As a member of the Veridian team, BTG will provide support in the areas of Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) operations, intrusion detection technologies, multi-level security technology, information assurance (IA) operations, training, and electronic commerce. BTG has an established practice in information and network security and nearly two decades of providing intelligence systems and services to the federal government. BTG is a prime contractor on ETSS, the Engineering Technical Support Services contract that supports the Air Force Information Warfare Center and the Air Intelligence Agency with information assurance, modeling and simulation, advanced visualization, and data fusion.
BTG also provides information assurance support to federal agencies under the GSA's Safeguard program and currently provides DISA with engineering services in support of trouble management systems for IA operations. The company was recently selected by the National Security Agency (NSA) to build the Security Common Component for the Joint Simulation System Alliance, which includes NSA, the National Reconnaissance Office, and the Defense Intelligence Agency.
