Hi all; A Doc Memory article on RDRAM vs DDR from Aug 1, that we managed to miss. And it's not entirely down on RDRAM:

The high speed (800Mhz data rate) Rambus will be a viable choice when systems designers decided to integrate memory onto the system to take advantage of its almost perfect signaling (disregard of cost factor).
ddrtester.com

In other words, RDRAM is a viable choice on small memory systems. The funny thing is that this is the very region where, according to dramreview, DDR is getting its first big advantage in design wins:
RDRAM small memory design wins: 1
DDR small memory design wins: 11

Actually, Dramreview hasn't updated their list since July 17, and even then they were already missing 2 DDR designs. Since then at least one more has been added, and in addition, Nvidia has announced a further speed upgrade (by +38%) in the GeForce line.
