Aether Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:AETH - news), a leading provider of wireless data products and services, and ParkStone Medical Information Systems, a leader in providing handheld technology solutions to physicians, today announced a strategic alliance whereby Aether will wirelessly enable ParkStone's handheld, point-of-care solutions. Additionally, Aether intends to lead ParkStone's pending round of funding with a $15 million investment.
Under the terms of the agreement, Aether will provide a comprehensive suite of wireless connectivity services and solutions to assist ParkStone in leveraging its handheld software applications and significant relationships with the nation's leading pharmaceutical manufacturers, insurance carriers, pharmacies and pharmacy benefit managers. Additionally, ParkStone has committed to deploying a minimum of 10,000 wireless devices utilizing the Aether Intelligent Messaging (AIM) software platform, and Aether's network operations and customer care center.
