One thing is for sure... It was a lot easier to diagnose video problems about 5 years ago, when you were dealing with ISA video cards. With today's complications in video card standards, the complexity of other hardware, let alone newer versions of Windows, what might be a simple hardware problem can lead you on a wild goose chase taking hours if not days.
