NEW YORK, NEW YORK (July 22, 1997) - Wit Capital Corporation, formed last year to provide on-line investors access to stock offerings, today announced its full management team and predicted it will participate in a major underwriting syndicate no later than September.
Founded last year by former Cravath, Swaine & Moore attorney Andrew Klein, Wit Capital has developed under the management of David Blumberg, a fourteen year investment banking veteran from Merrill Lynch, and Julia Oliver, a former senior executive at Salomon Inc. Mark Boyce, co-director of investment banking, formerly director of corporate development for Lotus Corporation; Robert Griggs, director of business development, formerly founder and CEO of Net Radio, the first and largest Internet radio network; Howard Seibel, director of marketing, formerly director of marketing at National Discount Brokers; Walter Buist, director of technology, formerly chief of applications development at Global Trade, Inc., where he led the development of the electronic trading system that Wit Capital acquired; Glen Mauriello, director of operations, formerly director of operations at Tradewell Discount Investing; Matt Gilbert, director of web development, formerly head of North American interactive communications for DMB&B Advertising, Inc.
In addition to providing retail investors unprecedented access to major underwritten public offerings, Wit Capital plans to offer opportunities to invest in venture capital.
