Not so fast, bud.
Dell can still deliver.
Having tough time is not impotency.
I will rather not predict Dell demise.
I will base my investment based on Dell's, performance, behavior, and other realities.
Europe as you know is a tough market.
CPQ is doing well because of DEC base.
Dell is the new kid on the block.
I really have no problem with Dell's performance so far.
It is what they can do in the second quarter that matters.
Y2001 earnings will be a minimum of .87. In my book that is a 30% growth in earnings (1.3 * .61). I will rather sacrifice some revenue than cut the profits.
Other than the ESOP program and not enough disclosures I don't have any other serious problems with this company so far.
Till now I protected myself by writing LEAPs. I am buying them back (at a profit) so that I can take advantage of what I expect to be a raise to 54 before the end of the year.

Have you noticed the slump in Jan.,'03 LEAP prices.
For people like hjones, this is a great opurtunity. Buying DIM LEAP calls and selling ST calls.

After saying all this, I fully agree with you that Dell has to perform. Right now I am betting on their performing.

Good Lock. Shalom.
