Come on, Joe, companies like Compaq are selling very serious quantities of 4-way and 8-way servers, as well as scads of 1 and 2-ways. Sorry, but your 75% number is way out of whack.

Edit, you could build for $2K, maybe you assume getting parts at cost. Still...The number of CPUs per average config, sold, Intel based server is moving up every day. The horse is out of the barn and and is now a team, and AMD is still trying to cobble together 2. |
