Major Beijing Distributor Wins Exclusive to Sell MRI Product Line
MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BW HealthWire)--Aug. 15, 2000--FONAR Corporation (NASDAQ-FONR), The
Patient-Friendly(TM) MRI Company, today announced a signed exclusive agreement with Beijing-based medical distributor
Evergreen Imaging to immediately market FONAR's extensive line of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems throughout
the People's Republic of China.
This agreement opens one of the world's largest marketplaces for FONAR. Evergreen signed with FONAR because of its
wide array of seven MRI products, including the compact, low-cost Echo(TM), which competes with other scanners at roughly
half the price, and the QUAD(TM) 12000, the highest field (0.6 Tesla) Open MRI available in the market today.
FONAR's marketing campaign has already been energized by the successful trip to China in June by Jay Dworkin, Ph.D.,
FONAR's MRI Product Marketing Manager. Dr. Dworkin conducted seminars in Beijing to train the Evergreen sales force
and made presentations to potential customers in Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing to support Evergreen's goal of providing

Mr. Ginzburg advised that Evergreen's sales force has immediately begun to aggressively market FONAR products into the
Chinese marketplace and that he will soon be traveling there to meet with a number of prospective buyers. ``With its
well-established network of sales representatives and its offices in every major marketplace in China, Evergreen Imaging will
enable FONAR to quickly and effectively penetrate the lucrative China market,'' he stated.
In 1980, FONAR introduced the world's first commercial MRI whole-body scanner. The FONAR Seven, the company's MRI
product line, includes the Echo(TM); the newly-enhanced QUAD(TM) 12000 and QUAD(TM) 7000; and the newly
FDA-cleared-for-marketing FONAR-360 (TM), which is available in its open sky configuration for diagnostic purposes and,
in the future, in its interventional-360 configuration for MRI-guided interventions. Also included are its works-in-progress
scanners, the Pinnacle(TM), the 0.6 Tesla Open MRI with superconducting magnet technology, and its Stand-Up MRI that is
able to scan patients in the weight-bearing position.
