Agree this is a bit of a pinch point. An article on Kodak in the most recent Forbes highlights an OLED (organic light emitting diode) thin screen that Kodak has patents for and that will be used in an upcoming Motorola Startac phone. Kodak apparently has big plans for this. According to the brief material in the article they have so far been able to produce a screen size of about 5.5 inches that has very low power requirements.(It didn't say what size screen would be on the new Startac).

Anyone here familiar with OLED technology (I'm not) and what potential it may have for solving the "display problem"?
