They raised taxes within 5 years. Added top rate of 36 percent. Dropped caps on income subject to Medicare tax. They may have also changed the indexation on the income subject to Social Security tax so that it was indexed by avg income growth (5-6 percent) as opposed to CPI (2-3 percent) which was doctored down.
