Multiservice Broadband Access Products to Demonstrate
Delivery of Next Generation Business Services and Applications
Accelerated Networks ACCL today announced its participation in the newly expanded Microsoft Partner Solution Center (MPSC), a facility designed to bring together world-class technology companies dedicated to the rapid development of secure, end-to-end network solutions needed by network service providers in order to maintain a competitive advantage in today's marketplace.
Accelerated Networks will be demonstrating its multiservice broadband access equipment as the infrastructure for delivering a bundle of services such as local dial tone, long distance voice, high-speed Internet access, and custom data applications over a single broadband access network, using DSL or T1 access facilities. Accelerated's products include a family of voice gateways, DSL and T1 concentrators, and carrier-class integrated access devices.
"The environment provided by the MPSC helps demonstrate that standards-based products and technologies are paramount for the interoperability of solutions from a variety of vendors," said Ed Thurman, chief technical officer for Accelerated Networks. "The combination of expertise from participating companies and Microsoft's technical engineers will give network service providers a hands-on look at how their networks can be constructed for the delivery of revenue-enhancing voice and data services over broadband access networks."
"Service providers want to see complete solutions for delivering a wide range of services and custom applications to their customers, and that is exactly what the MPSC is designed to do," said Michael Sandoval, director of the Microsoft Partner Solutions Center at Microsoft. "Accelerated Networks was invited to participate in the MPSC to demonstrate how multiple services can be delivered over a single, cost-effective broadband access network."
The MPSC is a unique multi-vendor environment that brings together the combined expertise, resources, and best-of-breed products for building, testing, designing and documenting end-to-end network solutions focusing on key new service provider opportunities such as application hosting, broadband/TV services, voice over broadband, wireless, and commerce.
Now located in Building 25 on the Microsoft campus, the new MPSC includes new technology areas such as a load-generation lab, expanded workshop capacity, new network services, and specialty training rooms. A unique aspect of the MPSC is that it is the only facility on the Microsoft campus that operates outside the company firewall, thereby giving partners the ability to easily run "live" pilots and customer tests onsite.
