Kevin, I was not at COMDEX, I have never gone to any COMDEX show!
It would seem that you have picked the wrong bad guy in this case! If there was as much commotion raised as you say, I am surprised that no one found the true Identity of the perpretrator.
"But I wonder why anyone with a reasonable mind would stand outside a booth at COMDEX in Las Vegas and scream at the top of their lungs that this company was a dog, had sued his friend, and was trying to deceive their shareholders."
In any case, it sounds as though whoever this was has a pretty good grasp of the realities of Camelot.
Why did almost the entire development department quit or get fired recently? Did they all find better jobs with less drive time. Why did the president of the retail division walk out at the end of last year? The bottom line is that people in key positions, from the bottom up, are leaving in droves.
In my view, quoting anything that you percieve to be not entirely true, is being less than honest. Much of the information in Camelot's SEC filings is straight from the press releases. Much of what has been said in those filings has been proven to be pure fiction. Telling people that the information is accurate, or intimating that it is by repeating it from a position of authority, must be considered somewhat disingenuous, and using this term is being extremely charitable.
As to the "lawyers advice statement" . That was couched as mere speculation, and I might add with tongue firmly in cheek! With the reports that I have had about the numerous lawsuits against Camelot, it could have some basis in reality though.
Thanks for the info on SEC filings. I don't pretend to be an expert on the process. However one preliminary filing had a date of April 4, 1997 for the special meeting. Another had no specific date but had the month of May indicated. The most recent sets a date in June...
Certainly enough reason for ingnorant folks like me to ask questions about what is going on!
Anyway, glad you got out of Camelot. I wish you good luck wherever you chose to go. I hope you are in a position that allows you to support a winner now! I further hope that your new company is not as "ethically challenged" as Camelot, and hence does not demand that you support it's attempts at deciet (as Camelot did)!
BTW, I am flatterd that I command so much attention from all of the good folks at Camelot. |
