Actually Gum Tech's loss was right in line with my estimate, which I posted on Yahoo several weeks ago. The loss was expected because the company's sales and earnings are almost entirely dependent on Zicam until they start producing revenues and earnings from the joint venture with Swedish Match. By my estimates, that should occur in the second or third quarter of 2001. The gum business should also be profitable when they begin selling dental gum to the yet to be named large consumer products company. My guess is their partner will be Colgate or Proctor & Gamble. The loss in the second quarter does not prove that Gum Tech "always will be a NET money LOSER", and you are foolish for making such a dumb statement. You are having a hard enough time predicting what will happen next year, much less years into the future.
