Viking Components Ramps for Volume Production of Rambus RIMMs Viking prepares for launch of Intel Pentium 4; Increases production of 800 MHz Direct RDRAM to support OEM needs

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., Aug 15, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Viking
Components, one of the world's largest and fastest-growing manufacturers of OEM
and upgrade component technology, ramps for volume production in September of
Rambus(R) RIMM(TM) modules to support the projected fourth-quarter launch of the
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 desktop microprocessor line (formerly code named
Willamette) supporting the Direct Rambus DRAM memory interface.

Viking is now ramping 800 MHz 128 MB ECC and non-ECC RIMMs, as well as 800 MHz
256 MB ECC RIMMs. "Over the past six months, Viking has strengthened its
infrastructure and built up its manufacturing and testing equipment to support
the latest memory technologies, including Direct RDRAM solutions," said Shannon
Biggs, executive vice president manufacturing and engineering, Viking
Components. "With the upcoming launch of Intel's Pentium 4 microprocessor and
RDRAM chipset code named Tehama, Viking is ramping volume production of Direct
RDRAM to support the needs of our worldwide OEM, reseller and enterprise
customers."

All Viking memory is 100 percent at-speed tested, and ships with a lifetime
warranty and 24/7 toll-free support. Guaranteed onsite response or $500 service
reimbursement is also available for qualified customers.
