I don't like most people specifically, but I appreciate them generally, as a species. I do not find most people as entertaining as a good book or a really superb video. But that doesn't make me hate people. I just don't want people foisted upon me.

Look at the people here for goodness sake! These are some of the most intelligent people around- after all they had to use a computer to get here- and I'd only want to meet a small handful of them.

I don't consider myself misanthropic- merely extremely selective.

But let me add I forgive myself for your perception that I might be misanthropic and I even forgive you for feeling that perception, and I hope you can forgive yourself for feeling that way. BTW- lots of the most intellectual people I know are fairly despondent about people, since to know history is to know how awful humans can be. The more educated you are, the more awful things you find out about humans, and the awfulness is SO repetitious. Good things too- but there is really a lot of awful.
