Scumbria,

You have always been in denial about Willamette ever since the demo at the February IDF.

How does the branch misprediction penalty of the Willamette compare with the Pentium III ?

The better branch prediction of the the Willamette will reduce the incidence of the misprediction. The 2x internal clock multiplier will speed up ALU operations. Thus the IPC will go up.

You continue to grasp at straws. Remember the 80286. It had a much longer longer pipeline than the 8086, and a much larger branch mispredict penalty than the 8086. So did the IPC on the 80286 go down ? No it increased by almost 2x compared to the 8086. Similarly the Pentium II, Pentium III have a longer pipeline than the Pentium , and despite that have a better IPC than Pentium.

The benchmarks will be released shortly for all to see, and even then you will be in denial, claiming that the benchmarks are not fair and your "sleazy behavior" chant will go on.
