Hmm, well that is a problem. I'm pretty sure that is not what would happen out here.

I used to be against vouchers but I came to the conclusion that one of the real problems with schools is the mandated salary range. Its like a big company with payscales that tries to get into an emerging technology area... ok these engineers are all grade-3 salary, etc. That never works.

So I thought the vouchers would allow for more flexibility in pay and I truly believe the fair market would raise teachers salaries to about double what they are right now.

Well, nothing is as easy as it seems I guess.

I think some people need to read some history from the turn of the century when we really had a fair amount of libertarianism. If you were a kid from a poor family you went to work - no school for you. Or if you were educated at home you certainly were not getting the same level of education as the more priviledged. Do we want to return to that?
