Have you ever heard of a system integrator? How much did LU spend on INS? How much is Cisco investing in the KPMG alliance? What makes you believe that through Cisco's SI alliances that they haven't got the tools to deliver solutions to both incumbent and new-world carriers. Certainly given Cisco's penetration into these new world carriers one would have to take your position with a grain of salt.

FWIW i do believe you have some knowledge - as do I. I find it rather odd that you continue to both suggest and believe that I haven't got background on this market and what it takes for carrier and more importantly vendors to be successful. I can tell you that the "trend" as you put it, is to have system integrators do the network design and installation. The reason that carriers are going this direction is that they are generally (or at least supposed to be) vendor agnostic.

My assertion that a few pennies won't hurt the incumbent carriers is based upon a business transition to data. Those carriers that don't make the transition will indeed have problems - on that we agree. What is being experienced right now is a time of transition where telephony revenue to decelerating faster than new world service revenue is coming on line. The carriers are not reducing work forces - instead they are re-directing these resources to data infrastructure design and deployment.....
