Hi Ken - re: Sonoma Systems [SS], what is more interesting is that it was about to go public --- it's even filed a S1. My guess is that the ipo market is hard to judge and the VCs decide that getting some *high currency* from NT is a better bet. Of course, NT and SS mgts are also willing to tango :). There is no guarantee, of course, and I don't know enough of SS to judge, but I'd think an acquisition pre ipo price is a lot more beneficial to the acquirer. For example, NT was paying 1/10 of Corvis for Qtera.
