Finance Minister Affirms Sudan Would Continue With The Economic Reform Policies Khartoum, August 14 (SUNA) - The Minister for Finance and National Economy, Dr. Mohammed Khair Zubair, has underlined that the government would continue with its economic and financial reform policies which led to the stability of the economic growth in the country at a rate that reached 6.5 % and a 3.9% in inflation in addition to the stability of the rate of exchange of the national currency against foreign currencies, as decided by the market mechanism. In a meeting with the ambassadors accredited to Sudan with the view to brief them on the country's relations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the restoration of Sudan's membership in the international monetary institution, the minister said the move would reflect on Sudan's relations with the various countries a matter that would boost economic cooperation. He said the economic stability achieved by the Sudan has won the recognition of all countries, including the United States, which has for political reasons refrained from standing on the Sudan's side. He said all the countries have backed the Sudan with the exception of the United States and Canada. He thanked the countries that backed the Sudan. The Minister has stressed that oil revenues are included in the general budget and that they would be used for social development and building of basic infrastructures in the country. He said the current economic program aims at providing basic services that includes basic education, primary health, provision of clean drinking water and development of capabilities to cope with the globalization.
