Hi NightOwl; Amazingly, the trade press continues to insist that the SDRAM for P4 announcement from Intel is new, and is not old news:

The revelations, which started to unfold over the last few weeks, fly directly in the face of previous roadmaps outlined by Intel. Until then, Intel had been persistently singing Rambus’ praises as the only memory with the bandwidth and performance to support the Pentium processors. In fact, Intel’s much-anticipated Pentium 4 would be supported by Rambus memory interfaces only, according to the policy the company steadfastly supported up until recent developments.
