I've always thought that Ronald Reagan's admission that he lied about the Iran-contra affair (At first He had stated that it was not an arms for hostages deal - but later repented to a national audience) was a much better example of a chief executive misleading the American people on an issue of national importance.

As for Clinton's sexual misconduct, he was wrong. And I think he received a suitable amount of humiliation.

The American people decided at the time (and tried to send home the message in the 1998 congressional elections) that it really was no more an important matter than Henry Hyde's forgotten child, or Newt Gingrich's adultery which occurred about the same time as Clinton's folly or Ronald Reagan's affair during his first marriage or any other such skeleton in our elected officials' bedrooms.

Same thing now, I guess, on whether Bush Jr. ever used a lot of nose candy, but we digress...shouldn't you be whining about paying too many taxes in support of liberal causes?
