I'm checking ... they cross licensed from ALA and Pat had good discussion the other nite re who was gunna pick up ALA's DSL business as they announced they are getting out ... she specs that AMD was making all chips for ALA and that they will pick up all ALA dsl chip biz ... I'm trying to check on that but dead end so far. This is the connection between ALA and ORCT chip biz.

>> Orckit and Alcatel reached a cross license agreement for certain
patents and patent applications in the DSL area. This agreement ends
the litigation on this matter between the companies. The cross license
agreement also extends to Tioga Technologies. Orckit has extensive
intellectual property rights in DSL access areas and it protects its
technology through an expanding portfolio of patents and patent
applications. As a member of several standard committees, Orckit offers
to license patents required for standards under fair, equitable and
non-discriminatory terms. <<

I agree with you re being easier to play bigger/momentum chips but I'd hate to miss an opportunity even if this simmers on the back burner to be revisited upon us getting more liquid.
