Really? Where? Please provide a link that supports this comment.

The fact is that Cisco has been reporting pro-forma forever in order to provide an accurate, apples to apples, quarter to quarter view of the results from operations. When you include aquisition costs (one time costs, goodwill, etc) AND income from investments is skews the ability to measure quarter on quarter changes. Without pro-forma data we would all be faced with figuring out the "Actual" earnings from operations. Instead Cisco does this for us with pro-forma data.

As for CNBC. They are reporting the news. They reported accurately - that Cisco beat by a penny and blew away expectations on top line growth. THis is accurate... you may not like it but the reporting was accurate and to chastize these guys for this is inappropriate. That said CNBC does make mistakes but in this case you are the one that is out of line. Every fund manager, long term investor out there is looking at pro-forma... you can chose to ignore it but those are the FACT my good friend. (got it right Jorj?)
