What would happen if Joe six pack installs his own cable modem and puts a kink in the cable as he fishes it under his house or through a wall, or he staples it to a support and puts a staple right through the cable... You think that they run a brand new wire from the street to the computer at every install? Of course not. They simply dont have the time. If the stuff is already there in the house they use what is in the house. I sure hope they dont try to re-run the cable to my apartment. It could get ugly since its underground from the street and the cable plugs are on interior walls. Is the guy who put the wires in 10 years ago any smarter than Joe? Eric
