I forgot what chapter 7 is. Is that different from chapter 11 bankruptcy - or is 11 for individuals?

Liz,

Chapter 7 is total liquidation. It is typically done when the firm knows the future is hopeless. Chapter 11 is a reoganization where a firm tries to reduce the amount it owes by asking the creditors to forgive some debt. Then the firm emerges and tries to be profitable.

The bummer is I need some nice new furniture and nobody (furniture.com, living, ihome.com, decor.com etc.) is having a blowout giveaway sale.

Try a real furniture store where you can see it in person and even sit or lay on it <VVBG>
