Hey folks,

Back from vacation today and saw something interesting in the house trading patterns today. Refco Futures was on the buy side for 4,000 shares. This may seem insignificant except for the nature of Refco. Refco is a house whose sole activities in the market involve accumulating or divesting very large posititions for funds, brokerage accounts or institutional investors. They don't day trade and they don't buy or sell small.

For the last 2 months they have been selling Eiger every day to the tune of a 2,000 to 15,000 shares per day. This is consistent with their usual trading patterns of averaging in or out of positions over time (Tom, I'm sure you're familiar with their DMX buy over April and May).

Why their sudden switch today from the sell side to the buy side? I don't know, but can only speculate -- a new client who wants to accumulate a position? new information that they have become privy to? -- who knows??

Should be interesting to see if the buying continues. I have seen them act on several stocks now and usually their buying patterns predict coming price trends.

Joe
