Albert - Re: <as per amd, "hammer" is right on schedule. It is just we all hoped that it would be released way ahead of schedule which still might be true: www1.amd.com; AMD says: <AMD plans to announce the first “Hammer” processor at the end of 2001.> Unfortunately, the AMD answer was written to deflect legal liability and says only that AMD "plans" to "announce" the Hampster. Translation: AMD hopes that maybe it will have something to say about the Hampster by the end of 2001 but we don't know what we will say or if we will say it. This is very weak support for the idea that AMD will actually release silicon at the end of 2001.
