Every single day installers deal with screwed up wires and screwed up computers. Having a user plug in the modem and pop in a CD is not going to make it any worse.

That is why I said that the "cable guy" installs the wire. I used to install cable. You would not believe some of the scotch tape splices that I have cut out!

The computer must be cable ready and the wires must be in place. Then it is possible to have a self install. Sure it can be screwed up too, but most people can get it right. AOL has 20 million folks that put in a disk and clicked their way to nirvana.

Then taking a page directly from AOL, you write the self install CD so it overwrites the dial up setup. There is no turning back after that! Then when customers say "I'll never go back to dial up" we won't know exactly what they mean!

And Ah, take a chill pill. I was only mentioning the radio box for fun...hence the following line "One can dream". Anyone reading this thread knows that I am new to it. You don't need to haze me like some freshman on the first day of school.
